What does Mr. Andy Ford have to say??Here is a guy thats been around and races at alot of tracks...
Is that what those 4412 carbs cost new? $800? My last one I got used for $300...
No it was $400 new and I had DSL in St. Catherines do some work on it and it was put on the dyno. I would not go to them again. We were looking at it at practice and they put some cheater parts in it, I had sent them the specs from the rule book and they ignored it. I was not happy to say the least, I paid good money to play bye the rules and they did not.
I guess there is other things to consider, besides what has already been talked about.Barrie allows .060 overbore, sunset is .040,this other crate option they have, and world product s/r cylinder heads. After reading over bsw rules around,it doesnt really say anything directly concerning pistons.
But atleast you dont have to weigh 3250lbs anymore.
btw, whos connecting rads were teched? The eagle rod,is perfect for some,i would never use that chinese crap, but they are very light,approx.520 gms.Get ride of that rule, and go with any stock type rod,but not under a certain weight. :-
A few people had their engines sealed by tech and the pans have been dropped. Not this year but in '08, IIRC...
The World heads are a direct stock replacement under NHRA rules and I think it's a good idea to allow them.
The rods? You gotta have something available to guys that isn't 40 years old and been through 600 bazillion heat cycles...
.060 or .040? Well it was .040 before the '09 season... I dunno if I'd even want to go anywhere much more than .040 with the heat we put in these engines but that's just me, it's what? 5 cubic inches from an .030 350... Is that right?

There are blocks out there, that you can punch out to .060 no problem, the really old blocks are rusting from the inside out,and i would use caution with them, atleast have them sonic tested.
with the rods,i agree!but just put a weight limit on them.imo
