dose anybody actually know what is being done to all these cheated up powergluids?
That is a very expensive, dummy torque converter, direct drive trans there. Those style are usually worth 2 to 3 tenths, plus the virtually empty case saves around 15 lbs in rotating weight (and the 10 or so pounds missing out of the converter), and about 40 pounds overall.
You don't have to know how to cheat, just have to have a credit card.
And if there is any tech guys reading this, there is a anodized (purple i believe) valve built into the valvebody to control the clutches at low speed, so it wont stall. Maybe tech should drop the pan once in a while?
OK getting off topic. Lets go back to rules people would like to see at Sunset for next year, its going to be hard for Dilley to sort through this mess to look for input.
i'll take $20,000 for mine lol 😉
package deal....35000 and they can have both o ours! haha

If you run a powerglide, you weigh 50lb more then running a turbomatic, which these parts your talking about are available for also, they are meant for 2600lb dirt cars not 3200 pavement cars.
with the rule of 50% rear weight, why not allowing the engine set back, mostly work involved, except having the driveshaft shortened. What do you think of that "cheater"
p.s.How do you know what color is the seperater plate on the valve body of this cheated up powerglide?? ;D ;D ;D
B.T.W. powerglides dont have low clutches, the band is applied and holds the high clutch drum, forcing it to drive through the plantaries..Just helping a brother out 😉 😉
i don't remember seeing any thunder cars being pushed out of there pit but then again i would be in my car backing it out under its own power!!
