I think Doherty stepping down is a great decision (not because he's not qualified, but because of the incident, Saturday night and I would not want my name on that, if someone was to be seriously hurt or even killed.)
I think the class is a suicide class, everyone has to go to work Monday morning, safety first - you can't put a price on safety!
The fun fours are the same make and models as the road runners, but no where near the same safety.
I can't comprehend racing without a full roll cage and not even having to wear a fire suit. That's like telling the drivers they can wear bicycle helmets instead of the real deal. It's only going to be a matter of time before someone is seriously injured.
Further note, I do understand you can get hurt in any class and in any race car, but the chances are far less likely, when you are protecting yourself.
Best wishes to Nicole Podewils.

i don't blame doherty for stepping down either and as far as the fast cars pulling off the track after 2 laps ,there is only two reasons in my eyes 1-the drivers do not know how to turn right or 2- they are cheating so bad that the cars can not turn right.I am not disagreeing that there is not serious safety issues with going the other way and if wes is saying there is so much cheating going on why doesn't he do the tech work, also if it is so safe to race the other way then maybe all the officals should try it!
no it was a protest for them cause they feel its unsafe also i know boxcar mark the #4 has his fuel pickup on the right side in his fuel cell and no matter how much he fills it, it wont pick up turning right.
Is that pickup stock Brendan?
I don't blame you stepping down either B.
BTW, reason three is they pull last place points if they turn a lap then pull in. Plus the potential handicap advantage.

Well no really the points deal cause they take the 24 fast qualifiers in the heats everyone else goes home.....and he runs a boat tank/fuel cell.
