All The Best

Thanks Mark, for sharing a more positive view point on our series.
As if there wasn't already enough bad news, the Wood Brothers are scaling back to 12 races. This doesn't seem to show any signs of letting up. 2009 will look very different. Any bets as to how many races we get into the season before we have a field of less than 43 cars?

The way it's going I don't think there will be 43 cars at Daytona.
Survive, is the word of the year. I think you will always see full fields, the start and park deal will come into play for some teams to just stay alive. That is going to be the key, keep your good people and hunker down. I wonder how long it takes for the "top 35" thing to go away and teams cant sell there points position anymore. i personally think this might help the series.......can we just go racin boys!!!! It hasnt been that way for years, and to honest i miss that, i dont want to go to a race when i know the top 35 didnt have to qualify!!?? Now the kid , on a one off , from cambridge can get a shot to qualify for a race, this could be the perfect time for someone to get a break.
Lets all remember that this whole situation is uncontrollable, dont throw nascar under the bus and start all the "i told you nascar would struggle in canada.......every form of motorsports business and other types of businesses are going to struggle. When teams at the NCATS level market themselves, they promote that they run the team as a business......this my friends is all about doin business... jw #21

Hi 25_JLM, as I mentioned on a Wood Bros. message board, I would sooner see the Wood Bros do 12 races, show up at the track when they do, with a great car, then try to run all the races, in a lessor car. It's not the 1'st time that they haven't run the entire race season, so it's not the end of the world. As long as they can come out of this recession still in tact, being a huge Wood Brothers fan, I'll be happy.
Editted: Here's a quote I found from Eddie Wood.
"We could run up to 20 but we decided to do 12 and do it right," Wood said Saturday. "We're going back to doing it the way we did it years ago." The organization used to pick and choose races in the early years. It ran only 18 races in 1973, with David Pearson, who won 11 of them.
