We might be treading pretty close to the "keep it respectful" rule. I think we can dial that back a bit without closing anything. As a mod I guess I should be setting an example. Sorry for the snark.
Looking for some pictures of IF's in racing can't seem to find any.
i think it is time to move on, most see it as an accident , yetti see`s it as a terrible driver. bottom line is it happened. no amount of discussion will change it. with nascar season just starting and local short track racing just around the corner, surely there must some other topics!
Have to agree with Don 91 and the title of the string, Nascar will no doubt deal with what happened to prevent in the future. Situations do happen, I thought the track crews did a great job and deserve credit for moving the show along, years ago it may have taken lots longer.

Jet dryer operators to wear firesuits, helmets: Jet dryer operators will wear firesuits and helmets this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway as part of a safety move following Juan Pablo Montoya's fiery crash in the Daytona 500. Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said his track will take action as well. Jet dryer operators, whose job entails blowing debris from the track following wrecks as well as drying the racing surface, do not wear firesuits because they typically are not around fires. "My guys will [wear them] because, if nothing else, I like them and they're good guys," Gossage said. "I want firesuits and helmets for those guys. I want at least four-point [seat-belt] harnesses. I want to look at roll bars. I want to look at the right kind of fire extinguishers in the truck.(Scene Daily)(3-2-2012
