Canadian sprint car series

A while back a friend of mine sent me a link to a post that appeared here during the winter concerning our series. I did not have time to respond at the time since we were in the building stages of the series. Now that things are shaping up, i would like to take your time and fill you in on our project and our goals for the upcoming seasons.

We initialy planned on a 305 racesaver rules for our group, the intention was to build an affordable canadian sprint car series since 360 sprint racing as gone through the roof in cost and maintenance. After trying to get those famous racesaver heads for our series, we realized that the cost of these 305 engines were reaching the 13 to 17 thousand dollars range, with such cost for an engine it basicaly defeated our purpose. We went back to the drawing board to see what we could come up with.

After a good meal and a few beers we decided that we had to come up with a solution that would make our engines reasonably cheap to build and yet be somewhat competitive with the 360 groups out there (ESS, PATRIOTS and SOS), what we came up with was a farely reasonable way to go racing.

With all the race engine parts laying on shelves here and there from series that change rules more often than necessary, we realised that there was tons of good equipment that could be purchased at a very reasonable price. We finaly made up our minds and came up with this solution, the cheapest way to go sprint car racing was to come up with a 358 ci engine using a factory block, flat top pistons, wet sump  and a timing chain. Any type of heads are allowed as long as you use a ASCS intake gasket.

Our purse structure is simple, $750 to win and $200 to take the green, this type of purse makes our series affordable for promoters, racers and the fans, yet it produces fast and competitive sprint car racing. we will come back to you in a near future with major annoncements concerning our sponsors and racing program for the 2009 season. Come and visit us at; www.cscs-racing.com , we will eventualy have our web site in both official languages.

In the mean time we wish you a good and safe racing season !
