Light drizzle delayed the start of racing for about 15 minutes.

All the classed raced - but I don't follow the other divisions.

Late Model feature:

Two Sunset cars showed up, #13 (Liscum) and #41 (Holdaway), lead the field of Hart (91), Kearnan (55), Randy Bull (54), Laking (44), and Lance Foster (X). Steve Foster (71) running a part-time schedule this year, had engine problems (rocker arm stud / pushrod).

Liscum started on the pole and never relinquished it. Holdaway and Bull pushed hard side by side for several laps. Then it was Kearnan and Bull fighting for third as Taylor broke away and began to close on the #13. Kearnan sanded the front straightaway wall on one lap but managed to keep it moving forward.

On the last lap, Holdaway dove to the inside of Liscum coming out of turn 4 and came close as the 13 won by half a car length.

Lance Foster (who won his first heat race tonight) broke (pan hard support) and completed only 3 laps. Don Hart also fell off the pace with something wrong (he's had bad luck with transmissions all season long at Barrie) as he was fast in one of his heats.

Finishing order: 13, 41, 54, 55, 91, 44, X (71 DNS)

The other divisions, there where 4 trucks, 11 4 funs and 11 ministock.

Might be time to put a fork in Peterborough Speedway as a regular saturday night track.  If the 13 and 41 hadn't been there, only 3 cars would have finished the feature, as it is there are only 4 cars that have raced every night in the class.

Might be better if they just run special events like the Cayuga did in its heyday, the have the Colors, the Chase for the Colours, 2 Oscaar races and toss in a TQ event and a Lucas cup event.

The trucks are a new class - 2 got wrecked and are being repaired - that would normally bring 6 and for a new 4 Cyl class, that's pretty good. The trucks will grow.

Mini-stocks ran pretty well - competitive top 5. That VW of Hannah's checked out though, gonna add some lead to him next week....

As for the LM, it's a challenge with car count - no question. Sometimes it's okay, but they are missing some regulars that are off this year, Jim Feeney (89), John Pollock (9), myself, Dwayne Fulford (56) and two new cars haven't yet made it out but will be soon along with the "always late season starter", Nick Oram (00). So without the two cars from Sunset, but the regulars, there could have been a full card consisting of;

00 Nick Oram
9 John Pollock
21 / 81 Doug Hanchard
26 Bill Jessup
29 Randy Barker
44 Dale Laking
54 Randy Bull
55 Darren Kearnan
56 Dwayne Fulford
71 Steve Foster
89 Jim Feeney
91 Don Hart
X Lance Foster

Also missing this year is Kim Mitchell. Thus had times been better (racing aint cheap!), there would have been 14 to 15 regulars. It'll come back. Only Don Hart went to another track (Barrie) for a bit and I think he's staying at Peterborough for the rest of the year.

Four Fun count is down this year. There was a good size crowd too!
