hey, bluedevil, you must have ate some rusty nails for supper, sounding pretty sharp there now. after all the bs that has been tossed around we are right back to the same question that i asked that started this thread. where was the cars? again, due to work injury, i can not and am not allowed to drive and that is why i was not there. as soon as wsib clears me to work i will be back at peterborough or where ever to support local racing.

funny how you brought that up. back a while ago i said pretty much the same thing. my perspective was why race, waste tires and fuel for a race you might not even go to run. i don`t know why j.p. does not make it an invitational race day and never mind the colors qualifying. he might have had some more cars that way.

That was your second post Don so would you have shown up?? and be it a chase or not it was still an invitational!!!

My question would be why would people stay away because it was a chase for the colours?? A race is a race !!!!!!!

bluedevil, yes, i would have shown up either way. let`s re-start what i said. i was curious why no cars showed up. yes, as far as thunders they had a busy week end. as far as llm`s,i figured with sunset being off some of them might have showed up. somebody mentioned because last year it was part of mccoll series that is why people showed up to race. previous year had nothing to do with mccoll series and still got cars! my own opinion was, right or wrong, drop the colors qualifing format and just call it an invitational . i know from some peterborough driver`s perspective they did not want to run as they have no intention of running colors weekend . my point of saying why run and waste tires and fuel was pointed towards knowing in the past that we had some real good cars show up and if you did not finish in top three you still would have to spend same money again in october to do it all over again. was not meant to say i did not intend to run. as matter of fact i was talking to track official earlier in week and told them then why i would not be there. just voicing my opinion on ideas to make it attract more cars out there. i totally agree, 1300. to win was pretty good and that is why i wondered why no one showed up.

Peterborough doesn't have the blue collar population like Barrie/Sunset has...welders and mechanics and truckers can fill a speedway...Senior citizens and Trent University students ain't gonna go.. it needs people to run the highway for specials
gotta be tough for JP when there's a track with casino money down the road. I hate gambling - it has a very negative impact on a community
at one time ptbo was much nicer than Barrie , Sunset and other short tracks in Ont. It had pit road so it could run series stuff before those other tracks.
someone needed to stick their neck way out to make sure it stayed in favour with touring series and attract I don't know what
I'm not in the business as a driver or anything like many of you, so I don't know how helpful a fans opinion is...but I know Peterborough's business community...it's fruity and you have to know to disassociate.
