IT was pretty strange. They usually give showup points to their own cars at specials but didn't yesterday. So their own cars didn't even bother to show up.

i never saw any advertising for this race . why wouldn't they put something even on these boards? the old way of thinking of the drivers will show doesn't apply anymore . the promoters need to do a little work now to get cars.

it was a real "screw the fans" deal imo
they shortened the races, there was no cars, but they held the gate at the original $15

would've been a perfect opportunity for them to say "folks hang on to your ticket stubs for $10 off the autumn colours admission" or maybe even a free hotdog..anything to acknowledge the fans commitment outweighing the promoter's commitment 100 fold

something...

I have stayed away from Peterborough (and racing in general) because of this watered down stuff... whatever the cause.

I thought I would give it another try.... wow.... brutal

JP used to try...but I guess he's become like so many other promoters ... maybe you just get beat down for trying and you don't care anymore?

Chase for the colours aside!! It was a 100 lapper paying $1300 to win with a track like Sunset having a night off!!  Cars should have been there!!  Cmon it was a invitational ,Don 91 your arguments make no sense! Even if you weren't going to the colours this was an invitaional with the opportunity of it being a good show. I say shame to all the drivers that didn't go and complain afterwards, there was no other race taking car counts away from this show. On top of that Peterboro is a fun place to drive. I say from now on JP should do like a qualifier for Daytona and lock in the front row with this show!

That's not fair. JP has put ads on the local Chex TV station here in Peterborough, and had plenty of radio commercials throughout the year. He advertises on Ontariooval.com and other places. Why the cars didn't show up, not sure, but there was a lot of activity going on throughout the racing community and not everyone knows how many events a team can run on a long weekend AND afford to do so. I can't think of too many that would run all three days, travel over 500 km's in the process - which may have stung in this particular case...

And to top it all off, traffic on the roads on Sunday in cottage country is in the back of the minds of many. Across the top (Hwy 7 & 12 is always iffy) and up and down the 115 is always crazy as people head back to the GTA.

When I had a car in this event 2 years ago, it was a lot of fun. I hope it can overcome this hiccup and become as successful as Autumn Colours is in October. In my opinion, I would move the Chase for the Colours to the start of the season and have its place as the starting bookend to the Colours. Run it in the last weekend of April or 1st weekend of May; closer to when the track opens in mid-April when everyone is anxious to get racin. I bet it would get the season off to a great start for the entire province.
