Mr chance I would like a reply to my earlier post to kinow if your man enough to show up or not!!!
Lots of pig iron does not equal safety . Back in the day when late models could run big or small blocks cars varied by as much as a 1000 lbs . I have seen Kahnefreaks car and i can build a 2000 lb car that is much safer . My guess is that the Melsons think a crush zone is a place that sells orange pop.
Now this is the old man seeing as you wanna metion the Melson's, And my friend I take offence, I have probably built more cars than you've ever drivin, and if you wanna bash the car you might as well add Dwayne Baker to the list as well cause he helped build it too, seeing as how your the man and would like to point out how badly we built the car, Just show up at our pit stall sat night and identify youself
Mr Melson i was not bashing your car , i stated i could and i have built cars far lighter and safer that is not to say your car is unsafe. I do not know how many cars you have built or help build but i would estimate i have been involved in constructing some where between 25 to 30 over the years. I am hoping to be at Barrie this weekend and if i make it there i will come over and introduce myself.
yeah ask breck and moore how safe they felt. also i have seen what a dp does to a gt car. to use grand am irl or any pro series wrt a safety discussion at the local level is assinine. i do not wish to get into a pissing match with you i am done. k-freak saw your web site that front end hit was hard you and your father hold your head up. i was not bashing your car in the earlier post i just feel the cars on the track at the same time should be close in weight for safety. lastly i watched my fav driver hit the wall and die as did millions in a safe car built by pros. every single person who straps in should do so with a sa helmut full face, a hans a full racing seat, newer belts and fire suit with a cage built as safe as possible
yes it was a pretty rough hit! my dad last year took a good straight in the wall to a dead stop with my car last year! same car and it is a great car. looks like it first did when it came out to the track! As for Mr JoeChance..please give my dad the benifit of the doubt when it comes to safety! he built it for me and would rather it be safe! I understand that cars should weigh close to the same because of a heavier car hitting a light car! Was also wondering if you had anything against me? I was a little chirpy in previous years but have changed my act as i wasn't having any fun with an attitude. Please if you know me for my previous attitude i suggest that you don't hold me to that personality type anymore as I have matured and am doing great every week at the track and many, many people have seen the adjustment and have commended me on numerous occasions.
Something i would like to point out is that having a car that is built like a tank or is able to be raced again after a big wreck is not the measure of a safe car . To those of you that saw the wreck that killed Dale Earnhardt the car showed very little damage considering the impact it took . NASCAR realized that the cars had become so rigid and virtually had no crush zones that the impact was directly transfered to the driver, hence the COT was born . Sometimes the car that is junk after a big crash is the safer car .
