has anybody thought of what might happen when a 2750lb car hits a 2000lbs car at full song, it does not fill my head with warm fuzzy feelings

Lots of pig iron does not equal safety . Back in the day when late models could run big or small blocks cars varied by as much as a 1000 lbs . I have seen Kahnefreaks car and i can build a 2000 lb car that is much safer . My guess is that the Melsons think a crush zone is a place that sells orange pop.

mr chance my point was that all the cars should be relatively close in weight.i t-bone your door in your fast safe 2000lb car with a slow unsafe 3000lb car they will pick you up in pieces. ps did k-freak or his father piss in your cornflakes at some time. i know the young rants on sometimes but seems like a good kid. it is easy to have years of experience and rip someone apart but try to remember your first couple of years in this sport, cut him a little slack.

Now this is the old man seeing as you wanna metion the Melson's, And my friend I take offence, I have probably built more cars than you've ever drivin, and if you wanna bash the car you might as well add Dwayne Baker to the list as well cause he helped build it too, seeing as how your the man and would  like to point out how badly we built the car, Just show up at our pit stall sat night and identify youself

just so you all know! i never said i was against adding weight to smaller cars. and yes i know i can get my car to weigh a little less yet! i can tube the front and rear if i wanted too and i could stop eating so much food! but I am having fun this year and as far as saying my car is not safe, well come take a closer peak at it! My dad built it and he is an amazing racecar builder! please quit the bashing, it's pointless! and yes i could be very competitive in the "A" division if i got my car down to 2500 lbs and put the 308 gears back in! i could probably do 17.0's and 17.1's if i had a lighter car! that's all I was stating! Ti Dale car that I borrowed was 3000lbs and when i put my drive train in it I lost 800 RPM and about half a second. Now that I have all my stuff back in my car I gained half a second down to 17.6's. so there is no doubt in my mind that if i weighed 2500lbs I would be pretty quick! But like I said I am happy! and i don't bash anybody at the track so why bash me?

Mr 3 i disagree that race cars need to be all around the same weight . In several forms of racing in the past late models and the present American Le Mans , SCCA cars may very greatly in weight and size . You can have a 1900 lb crx in the same race as a 3400 lb corvette on tracks that speeds may exceed 160 mph . Size and weight have nothing to do with determining safety , i would rather hit the wall at 150 mph in a 1550 lb IRL car then in Kahnefreaks 2700 lb charger car.
