There hasn't been an official announcement from the track, but Humberstone Speedway dirt favourite #69 Rob Pietz has posted on the Humberstone Speedway web site his disapointment that the Port Colbourne area dirt track has dropped the Sprints for 2009, after only 2 seasons, and that he has sold his car and will be returning to race modifieds.
Pietz, who won the 2008 championship by 4 points over #22 Jim Porter, posted it "really screws the guys that have or are buying cars for Humberstone." He ended his post with "you think they would post an official decision on classes for 2009.."
I believe Humberstone plans to have the 358 Modifieds run every couple of weeks in 2009.
The move away from sprints at Humberstone has been rumoured for some time now...
Given their location and lack of success car-count wise with the sprint class there, it makes sense to try 358's there instead.
