Dick was a regular runner at Flamboro Speedway in the 70's and 80's. He raced many times at Cayuga, Varney and a number of other tracks. His son Rick raced late models and supers, his son Bill has raced on pavement and dirt, his grandson Bill has done some racing, and in recent years his daughter Amanda has raced at Ohsweken in thunder stocks.
Dick loved his family, loved to have a good time and he LOVED racing. He also enjoyed helping others in racing and seeing them do well.
An unfortunate fall a number of years ago started him on a road to other problems and may have slowed him down a bit, but he maintained that get it done additude.
I was lucky enough to know Dick, receive his help, enjoy his friendship and witness his energy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen.
Johnny thanks for posting this...
The Stoner's are very good famliy friend's. Dick had a great summer filled with what he loved to do thanks to his son Bill. Dick was seen Friday nights at Ohsweken Speedway watching the races. Dick's son has helped so much in getting Matt to the races this past summer you could see Matt and Dick (grand dad) going along on the golf cart together.
