I talked to the folks at ctmp and they are sorting out the details on camping for the truck race. Possibly it will be different than normal w'e's. Have to check the website for updates.

Yeah, don't count on camping for the Truck race to be quite the same as most other weekends.  We've gone to camp three times for the VARAC Historic Races, where camping is actually FREE, and you pick wherever you want to camp, first come first serve.  Our spot has always been halfway between Turn 3 and 4, it's a great spot for seeing potential passes (Turn 3), and watching the cars peel off down the hill at Turn 4.  Then you can walk with your lawn chair down to Turn 5, which is the best corner on the track, and best passing opportunity.  Plus downhill at Turn 4 is treacherous, crazy elevation change and just an awesome place to see how the car's working.

But for the Trucks, you can expect a giant crowd, maybe bigger than the ALMS race, so I could see Mosport opening it up to reservations sometime in the next month or so.  Get 'em while they're hot!

the only negative I can see for the truck race is the date. Labour day weekend traditonally is the last points race at many local ovals and there are still some big local races held that weekend, i.e. Delaware's Great Canadian (I hate that name) lm race for example, I just wish it (the Mosport race) was a week or so earlier just to keep away from all the local racing and social deals going on that weekend.
It wil be interesting for sure-the trucks have always been Nascar's rub and run division and with no road course racing in the past 13 years, ponder how good the competiton will be? Wonder if the road racing ringers have rides lined up, something like the Cdn Tire series does?

Guaranteed Ron will have a ride.  😀

Piquet will be the favourite, methinks.  Hornaday was a good road course racer in the past though, he won a race at either Sonoma or Topeka, I forget which.
