Has anyone ever camped at Mosport before? Dad and I want to haul the 5th wheel down for the truck race next year. I'd like to camp somewhere where we can see the track. Level ground isn't necessary, as long as we can block the trailer to vaguely level. Saw there was camping by turn 4, but from video it looks like it's all trees by the track aka no view.
top of the Andretti straight (turn 8) is pretty decent (and if you can walk over to the oval fairly easily on Saturday night). Good showers and washroom in that location too
Decent view from the camper? Or do you have to hike somewhere?
JLM, if you live close enough I would suggest going out to scope out a spot. I went out last week to check out the newest construction and drove right in. Went right to turn 5 which now has a paved access road on the outside of the track. With all of the recent heavy landscaping projects there are a multitude of great viewing areas with excellent views. As Mike said the Andretti straight but also outside between one and two and all the way up to 5. Inside of three has a new area as well. Can't ewait to see what the future holds for the track. NCWTS is just a start I am sure. They are doing all the right things out there
Mosport could not have ended up in better hands than those of Ron Fellows and company. I took in the most road racing I've ever experienced this season, attending all the major events at CTMP, except the bikes, but including the awesome Vintage weekend. Had a great time a every one and saw some great racing and incredible cars and many hints of what's to come! Victoria Day, ALMS and NCWT (and the vintage weekend) should all be fantastic events next year with ever more improvements to the property.
The last time I was at Moss Corner was during the BEMC races in Sept. There was a machine clearing the bush that covered much of the hillside surrounding the turn and several gentleman who had arrived by helicopter were having a look at the area seemingly for engineering purposes. We could only guess at what they had in mind, but easier access was something that came to my mind and it sounds like they've delivered! I can hardly wait to see it next spring!
