I think the 602 would have to be expunged from the LLM before it came into use by the thunders at Barrie.
Agreed!
The 602 is not the savior of TC in the province of Ontario. Like I said I wish for the class to be like it is now forever... and cost less. I can't really see that happening, kinda like a 6/49 win for me... ;D
Unfortunately some tracks are going to the 602 and it does not look good for the TC class here... It has great power for $3200... but between the move to LM setups and crates it won't help TC racing... Straight up gearing would be eliminated for one. TC is the tuner's class right now BTW... it has come tenfold from the street stock class it originated in. Bring in a entry level V8 truck class like Delaware has if you are worried about the economy of bringing 4 cyl racers up...
I think that we as TC racers should be more worried about the immenient drying up of Metric chassis... IMHO...
Ok, so everyone seems to be in love with the 602 crate. To be honest, It's SH#T. The racing sucks. So we all line up for a 50 lap feature, about 6-8 laps later, after the shuffling it's follow the leader single file crap. This sport we all love, was built on the the BUILT MOTOR GUY. Plain n Simple. And now they want to take it all away. Sorry if I piss people off, but too bad. I want to sit at the fence on a Saturday night and watch somebody work the highline all night. And Wade I would love to see you run a 3.90 or a 3.73 at Kawartha, good luck with that. Dont do it Herb stick with the built. Crate Motor = SHIITE racing.
AMEN Brother if I want to race trains I'll go get my Conductors licence!!! I'm not sure our rule was regulate a 3.90/3.73 @ Kwartha but I wouldn't hessitate to try something in the 6.00 plus final range straight up! but I love RPM's!! I think if you were to allow the 2101 on the builts that run with the 602's you'd pretty well even them out IMHO
Also the 602 makes the same torque as HP I'm not positive about how far it drops with the 4412 and stock manifolds but I'm sure it does, I believe the number for a very stout built engine would be in that 280-290hp mark Kevin but we also have the ability to make it "Come to life" where we want via camshaft selection we can also opt for more torque or more HP, I'm positive that's why they past Herb by the end of the straights is that 10-15 more hp then us, Torque get's you up of the corner and moving and HP will carry you the rest hence why @ AC they didn't seem quite as effective Peterborough is not an HP track it's a torque track like Barrie and Sunset shorter straights where as Flammy has longer straights and KD they should really haul the mail down there!! the 602's have good balance but you can't play with them (Legally) and that always sucks take a good look at what past crate implements have done aslong as they don't mandate it I'm ok with it but the day the tell me I have to use one will be very very sad, I like built motors and I like the guys that build them (most of them anyhow) you don't need bags of HP to race short tracks! Torque is what you should be hunting for
Hey wade, may i suggest a truly powerful and reliable HOSKING mill for your new ride. they ARE proven powerplants.
Jim I believe I'll be going with the other H name
