Hill my freind- NASCAR does not pay anyone in Tech or Safety, they are all volunteers until this week when they made the annoucment that Tim would be a paid employee of NASCAR, along with Rich.C and Robyn. That's it for paid employess for the series. Now tell me how much BS you would take if you were doing your job for nothing ??
Crew...thats my guess as well and with all the new templates, mesurements, seals, and checks I am sure this wore Dave down as not only did he have to approve a tech finding, he also had to teach as he went with the other Tech's. I have heard so many rumors about Dave leaving, and not one of them the same, and I would have to say the parting was better for both NASCAR, who obviousally thought this was a better move, and for Dave, who was getting beat up by everyone- racers and nascar at the same time.
I would hope that NASCAR can put together a Rule Book this time before the first race of 2008. This would make it better for the Teams and NASCAR Tech. They should make the Rule Book available no later then the end of October as they have had all year to focus in on changes they want to make, and the Rule Book should be set in stone - NO RULE CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ONCE THE RULES ARE HANDED OUT. As well it should be put in stone what the PURSE is gowing to be, what the AWARDS are going to be, and what the COSTS are going to be at the same release date- Oct 07.
I think if NASCAR did this it would give all the teams a better idea of where they will be Racing next year, and in advance for once. This year the race winnings were supposed to be 30-60% higher then 2006 as we were told at the March meeting, but that number did not translate to what was expected, as well Teams put out more money this year then anyother year since the Birth of CASCAR.
If NASCAR can fill in these gaps I think it will makle it better for everyone- especially the TECH guys who take the majority of the butt kicking and complaints about the series.
mid if you had asked me that on sat at the end of the race i would have said too much. i would be happy if someone paid for the cigs i go thru on a west tour date. ps it too is only a volunteer position but i did inform the powers to be in the west tour that i would not do it for nothing next year, maybe with that i can concentrate on just racing the slm in 08.
I thought dave did a good jobfor nascar,When he teched the sportsman series he was always fair and treated everone with respect.Maybe we can get him to tech the oss next year ,Skeeter did a great job for us but I would like to see him in a car racing against us ,Good run in cayuga Skeeter hope to see ya in a car next year.Dave would be my first choice for tech in 2008 in the oss.Mike Hryniuk #80
Dave has been overrun with differant racing series offers that need his expertice and knowledge and after talking with him I hope he is being swayed towards the OSS deal but we are going to have to pay him for this position. I cant see Davey putting up with a whole lot more, at the same time doing it for nothing.
I would think NASCAR wore out all of his patience so getting him to run Tech will be a payable deal if we want him, and I for one say Yes to Mr. Brown.
NASCAR Canada's biggest supporter at the Official level will suffer without Dave Brown, and the teams will suffer because they have no one to turn too on the application call of Go, or NO GO !!

Dave is also handles Tech at Capital City every Wednesday nights he's always been great to deal with.
