BAR sounds a lot like midamerica, Welcome back Dave. Glad your feeling better.
The names on his list are not surprising. Gibbons is retiring. Ranger & DJ will likely go Nationwide full time. Others were not fulltime anyway.
Purse money is not what drives this series. It's sponsorships.
There are teams wanting in if they can make the right deals.
Keep the faith.
Great point oldbill!.....and purse does not drive NASCAR in the US either....it is 100% sponsorship that does, just like up here...some people dont get it.
yeah 2.8 million in just chump change
What does NASCAR have to really pay for in the US, besides their employee's?
The Tracks pay NASCAR for the races and the tracks pay purse for the drivers? Right.
Sponsors pay NASCAR to be the title sponsor. Companies pay NASCAR to be licensed to use the name in ads. TV pays NASCAR for rights to air the races.
Sponsors pay to be on the teams cars.
Like it or not NASCAR knows how to make money.
OK Just ticket prices @ 65.00 x 120,000 fans = 7,800,000.00 and that doesn't include money made of the consessions, pit and garage passes, camping.
I can see why a track that looses an event wants to take NASCAR to court that is a lot of money to be lost.
I wish I could run a company like they do.
Does anyone know how it works for the track to have all race trailers selling driver merchandise. Does the track get a cut or they just charge a fee for each trailer?
I have to admit....bar does sound alot like m.a. lol
the tracks charge teams to sell their merchandise. just like nascar takes 12% of any merchandise that has the nascar logo on it.
we are in tough times people, but the economy will bounce back; it always does. as for ncats falling on its face , not likely, the teams that wether the storm (economy)will be the successful teams in the future. and you have to admit, some new blood in the series would do some good! #21 jw
