INDY vs. DAYTONA

Several of you racers and fans have visited both tracks, and in each case you would regard it as something you will never forget. I have been to Daytona, the premier Super Speedway as considered by many, but the high banks that help steer the cars don't hold a candle to the Flat Straights and low banking at Indy. Although we never ran stock cars at either track, I can say we ran Indy Cars at the Brickyard and the emotions that you hear drivers talking about are small in comparison to the reality of racing there. Walking through the Gasoline Alley tunnel onto the front straightaway and pit road is the most exciting thing anyone can ever imagine, and it does not matter if its your first time doing so, or if you have done it a 100 times... Indy is a huge racing rush for the fans, but more so for the race teams.The biggest thing to overcome for the Drivers is coming off of turn 4 and looking into what looks like a funnel with no exit. You run flat out until you finally see the corner into 1, which usually comes into focus at about 200 yards. To run this place fast the word LIFT is not in the format, the word FLAT is the only way to describe what a real driver needs to do here.NASCAR has done very well here and has made Indy a second home in racers hearts as well as Drivers dreams, and it is something every race fan needs to do at least once in their life.Yes Daytona is full of speed and the season opener for NASCAR, but INDY is the race everyone wants to win in order to join the record books of racing superstars that have raced at the yard of bricks.Today's race will mark another first for someone, or a repeat that stands the test of time in bragging rights, either way it will come down to the heart and sole of a Team, a Driver, and his Fans that make this one unforgettable moment in Motorsports.

who cares what car they run without plates....heck they could run the old superbirds and that would still be exciting to watch

in the car of now you would almost be certain that someone will be hurt, but i agree that the superbird should come back.
