I totally agree with the others about the extreme pricing for this weekend.  If the show was with more cars and races then not so bad, however from what others are saying an average sized field for NCTS and a small field for Cup Lites.  Looks like I'm travelling by myself as I'm sure my dad will have a heart attack once I tell him the price.  And if NASCAR wants support for the series then maybe they should back off from taking our money so fast and be reasonable with the pricing, otherwise the fan base won't change and therefore this won't help the supporters of the old CASCAR series.  I'm going only because its the first event but it just means I'll be bringing more supplies of my own for food and such as I now have less to spend at the track due to the ticket price.

I have to agree with RW and just about everyone else on this one as well.

Has anyone noticed, there's a lot of senior citizens that are probably the biggest fans going? They're all on fixed incomes, so with the higher gate prices as well as the cost of gas going thru the roof for them to get there, is going to make it pretty hard on some of these guys.

And if they want to attract more of the younger crowd, they can't afford to cough up 99.00 a crack either I would suspect?

Even in my own family, our daughters and son-in-laws are all young trying to raise young families, pay the morgages on their houses etc, feel the pinch! I can tell you right now, without even asking them, they won't be attending as many races as previous years at these rates.

Sure 99.00 isn't a bad deal, if you can make it to all these races and can afford to front that much money at one time. Hopefully they can give us the same kind of deal for the campsites!

Anyway's that's my 2 cents worth, now I have to run to the bank and take out a loan, hopefully, I'll make it up there for Saturday morning, Drop over for a free coffee at the trailer. 😉

I would think, charge a little less, then hit those, that can afford it, up on concessions.

Not defending NASCAR or anything, but I just want to point out that they don't set the ticket price as far as I know. Tracks pay to have the show come there, and its up to them to set ticket prices to make their money back. Sure, they could charge only 25 bucks....but look how far charging only 25 bucks got them in the past ten years.

There is another option though. You can watch the race free on TV a couple weeks later. Or better yet, record the race, and support your local Saturday night racers instead. Flamboro, Merrittville, heck, even South Buxton...they all put on a pretty good show. And they need your 10 or 15 bucks just as much as Cayuga needs your 45 bucks.

Its not like the price of gas, where you have no choice but to pay it. You've got options.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

BTW, in spite of the price, I predict a bigger crowd than Cayuga's seen in a heck of a long time. They've been doing an old-school awesome job of promoting it. You heard it here first!

Just a few more prices to chew on last years night before the five hundred usac midget show at IRP 20 US.  Berlin open wheel spectacular with ISMA AVSS open midget race including focus and usac and wowms?? and hobby cars 20 us.  I'm thinking I'll go watch the SOD race at Buxton.
