Sorry, trouble with reading comprehension. I thought you were betting that today's payout is less than 1999. Interestingly, it is not.

The total posted awards for this race is 57,897.77 compaired to 37,400 for the May 26 2007 race at Cayuga. But the 57,897.77 includes additional event. With out all the extrace money like pole award, laps lead and other stufe the purse is 27,000+ but Nascar includes pole award in theres.

I NCATS is there other event money from sponsors of the series? Their is 20 event awards totaling 30000.00 that is up for grabs.

You have to remember this is over 8 years ago too that plays into the factor.

I just copied this info off the entry blank for this Sunday's race at Kawartha, the 1st place prize hasn't even doubled in 8 years. I would expect much more money to be involved. Although $70,264 in posted awards now is better than $57,877 then, and the old one was based on 36 cars the new one is based on 24 cars. If you look below you'll see that if someone driving a Dodge wins the pole and the race they will take home $9000 in winnings this week...Go Dilley Go

Contingencies include:
$1,500 Bud Pole Award.
$760 (value) Goodyear Eagle Tire product award.(Random Draw I believe)
$1,500 Mobil 1 Oil “Command Performance Driver of the Race” award to the winning driver.
$5,000 Mopar“Fast Five”Awards: 1st-$2,000 2nd-$1,250 3rd-$1,000 4th-$500 5th-$250 (Top 5 Dodges in race)

RACING PURSE BREAKDOWN
1st - $4,000 9th - $1,650 17th - $1,030 25th - $875
2nd - $3,300 10th - $1,590 18th - $995 26th - $875
3rd - $2,880 11th - $1,350 19th - $955
4th - $2,580 12th - $1,275 20th - $915
5th - $2,070 13th - $1,200 21st - $875
6th - $1,870 14th - $1,175 22nd - $875
7th - $1,770 15th - $1,110 23rd - $875
8th - $1,730 16th - $1,075 24th - $875
