I think the issue is, hill3, that the OSS opens themselves to this kind of criticism and ridicule by the press releases and public comments that they put out. See above. No other series consistently make promises and statements which later turn out to be untrue.
There are many people who do not like the way John Casale runs Flamboro but give the man his due. He has owned the Speedway for the past 35 years and Flamboro is by most measures still one the most successful and best speedways around. Good car counts, decent crowds. John has been burned by travelling series in the past and for the most part has decided to do his own thing.
The late Champ Car World Series and the IRL did the same sorts of things for years, just for the record. We're not nearly as vicious as those fans, not by a long shot...
first i know how hard to run a series is, i do it with two others. second, from an inside source the date was cancelled by mutual consent due to the inability to find a Spenser for the race.(not my words). old bill series have been doing it for years that is why schedules say tentative or subject to change. are you going to jump on ncts when theirs change due to the irl/cc merge and Edmonton has to change. oldbill do you pick at a scab or do you let it heal?
My point was that i cant remember a track ever posting an announcement on their web site that a series...wasnt...going to be there.Lol.
Someone must have irritated them enough to do it.
Plus John has someone run his web site and doesnt always know whats posted, so the webmaster may even have done this on his own.

Got my copy of Inside Track in the mail today. There's an announcement about the OSS sked...and the one printed includes the Flamboro race. I'd suspect Flams public denial stems from that.
