In regards to the wheel going into the crowd.
To hell with Floaters!!..............BIGGER FENCES and BIGGER CAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think a 20' high fence would have stopped that tire, in that vid in looks at least 30'.
just back from vacation and catching up on a few things. The CHCH publicity probably isn't really the kind of publicity John wanted for the track. Wonder how the television station found out about it? Perhaps they were scanning ambulance calls????
Still think the fences aren't tall enough--- they need a top kick in and those walls are not at a 90 degree angle to the track and are launching ramps.
I agree with you mike32, all walls at tracks should be at 90 degrees, or even angled INWARDS. Highway barriers at peterborough and other tracks are so stupid, they are not even a good idea on highways themselfs!! They ramp the cars and wheels upwards and couse flips , you loose control.
If the wall were leaned inward, the top of your door would only hit the wall, it would actually save your lower control arm from being bent, seeing as how the bottom of the right-front tire always stick out the furthest on a stock car.
I would also like to know how the wheel got up that high? And what broke on the car, was it an axle? Or was the lugs loose, or did the centre come out of the rim?
And if it was an axle broke, why? Who did he hit the week or race before that. Thats usually what starts it. Axles dont just break for no reason.
