I Haven't been coming to Delaware all that long and they say its the return of "Dipstick", so what was the idea of "Dipstick"

I think that was their mascot. it wasn't around there when I was a kid but I couldn't tell you how long ago it was first introduced

Dipstick goes back closer to 10 years. I did my first stint at Delly 5 years ago and Dipstick was a few years prior to that. I beleive it was when McGonigle was running the show.
Mascots like that can be effective if they get someone good inside the suit. Unfortunately most places that have costumes like this kicking around usually just stick a teenager inside. There's an art to mascot work too.
