Personally this biggest hassle I ever had was finding street tires and paying to much for them and then getting them shaved. Big hassle and waiste of time to me at least. I like the Hoosiers and I think they do the job. Can somebody please back me up on the Chilli? or at least baked beans, I gotta start living heart healthy and filthy french fries don't reall fit int othe grand scheme of things.
if i was a fan i would want them to sell the chilli or baked beans not until the last part of the nite or too go..lol.
Hey Dougy did you get the extra dough for being a non-gm? ;D
Not yet,,,, they know about it. Thanks to WhitWorth Towing to bringing up to the tracks attention. I'm just going to forward it to a NASCAR License for next year anyways. Since we will possibly have a friend building a truck, I will be down there every Friday.
On the subject of changes for the super stock class, personally I would like to see none. What we have is a strong class that is very competitive with good car counts. Every year we have 3-5 rookies join the division so it is still growing. A big factor to me for this is the stability of the rules and no huge changes. The drivers in our division on the most part have respect for each other on and off the track which makes for FUN racing. The only change I would like to see is get rid of the ownerspoints and drivers points. Just go back to drivers points. The driver starts the race, he gets the points. Yes I have voiced my opnion to the proper people over the years on this but I don't think it will change. As far as the expense of our cars, it is up to the individual teams. We only bought 8 new tires last year and it would have been 6 but for two cut tires. We do not run an alternator, power steering, or the fiberglas? rear leafs. We are still on the steel leafs (alot cheaper). We do have the headers and tublar upper control arms and the 3" exhaust.Heck, we still have the rubber doughnut body mounts. And we still measure 53" roof height. Our biggest expense last year was gettng the rear end done with one race left after breaking the c & p. As long as it had to be done we put in the full spool which is legal. We did add the containment seat bolt on's two years ago and hopefuly will get a head & neck restraint system for the upcoming season. Saying all this we have been lucky in that we have not had any major wrecks over the years. Our whole attitude is to get the most out of what we have to work with and have FUN doing it. And if we can be of assistance to any of the other teams, we try to do so. Alredy looking forward to next season and hopefully we can still be competitive with our old set-up. Sorry about the rambling on. Have a great off-season and we will see you at Delaware next year. 77 Siskinds:The Law firm Super Stock Team
Well said son about the the fiberglass leaf springs!! That one was tough to get your head around when so much stuff has to remain stock. On the tire issue I already bought 4 new tires so I don't want to see any changes. Changes of a big nature should be done with a mid season meeting and implemented the follwing year. They should be voted upon and settled and ADVERTISED, again in the mid season previous to the season they are to be implimented. Safety issues obviously we require a different agenda. The driver / owner points are wierd but I don't care that much about them.
Hans devices shouold be considered heavily this off season. A 100 mph is fast anyway you slice it
