the mod rules are very similar between all the Ont tracks, Varney being the closest. mosport cars, (like the 31 late in year), have very limited engine rules making them less competitive (from an engine stand point), but Delaware tech guys have been very accommodating with the handicaps.  i believe they even share the same tire.  we have seen a few cars from Varney in the past, that 8 & 12 car are very competitive.

There's loads of boxed kits, or used sprints in Michigan, Oswego way I'm sure. Keep the costs down with gearing, crate engines, that kind of thing. Run the same tires that other tracks do, so others don't have issues (or invitational rules).

I am very keen on a local roster that direction. It's either that, or when I finish paying my Xwife off... she could sponsor a mod for me 😀

I'm a little puzzled as to why guys interested in buying wingless sprints or something of that nature but not a modified? They are almost as fast as the late models but not nearly the cost to up keep. I personally think that Delaware has a decent mod car count, sure it would be nice to have more but have you seen the counts at the other tracks they don't compare.

It would be a shame to lose a great class maybe we can find away to get more guys interested.

Just my 2cents

I'd have to agree, gearbox.  I think the Modifieds are great to watch, despite such a poor field.  I have to ask, what IS it that's bringing the budget close to a Late Model?  Is it the engine?  The tires?  Why not mandate a 602 crate instead of a 604, run it as a sort of entry-level open wheel.  I'm sure they'll still be plenty quick and awesome to watch with 350 hp instead of 400.

As far as Super Stock, there a few minor rules that bother me in terms of keeping the costs down, part of why I didn't make it out this year.  Things like having to run a lexan windshield instead of glass (does any other track even require that?) and needing a 3-link rear to keep up...

And feeling embarassed that I won't have a $1500 containment seat and a $1200 HANS device and a $10,000 enclosed trailer like everyone else does...

But that's just me being used to the comparatively-cheap Street Stocks we raced in North Bay, I guess.

I agree on the Trucks being permitted to run standards, and also running street tires.  Delaware, as far as I'm concerned, doesn't HAVE an entry-level class (the Chaos Cars aren't really a racing class in a true sense, entertaining or not), because the Trucks don't have rules that are entry-level in nature.  I think street tires would be a big step in the right direction for them.  The Trucks really ought to be the biggest field week in and week out, but they're not, and I think that's why.

Well, i know a Super Sprint was sold to Canada... So we may not see McCullough around much longer...

better take another guess at who bought that super sprint, dave was over at my place last weekend and that wasn't in the plans  😉

Well then, I have no idea what he is personally doing, it could have been a Super Modified too I always get the two mixed up...
either way one of the two was sold to Canada and him always driving in the Delaware show i figured might be him

You seriously get the two mixed up?They're no even remotely the same... 😉 ;D
