I'll be glad when my subscription expires.

It just seems that as a result of a weak Canadian print media, the paved tracks have become much more isolated (or insulated?), for example fans from Sunset used to know what was happening at Flamboro but now I think they couldn't care less.
Just some food for thought.

+1

It does seem like that. I ahve no clue who the front-runners at other tracks are, unless i am going there then i research it. I honestly couldn't care less....this is true with the entire scene i am affraid. Not to beat a dead horse, but this could be why there is so much resentment to next gen's..ppl just dont know that there are more old school than next gen running at the front at barrie

See this is another place that tracks could get together on...its all a matter of resources.

In the "old days", articles would be written by track staff and sent into whatever magazine. Now its redundant. The same stories are being written as they always were, just now they go up on the track website rather than to the magazines. Sure you could send the same article from the website to the magazines...but who'd buy a mag full of the same stuff as you can read online for free? And most tracks don't have a staff of writers to cover the various media...so its pretty tough to send different stuff to different publications.

But there's definitely a place for regional magazines....but I beleive that place is on the web. I don't think there'd be a big enough subscriber base to justify the cost of a print magazine. (believe me...I've looked into it)

I find it unfortunate that this site in particular is not seemingly being supported by the racetracks...at least not officially.  I understand why not, but its still a bummer. What would be nice, IMO, is a page much like the "breaking news blog" that Inside track has, but focused on a basic region and submitted by card carrying track reporters or personnel. (I honestly don't even go to IT's breaking news blog anymore....how many NCTS press releases do ya have to sift through?) I know Evan's tried to include as much breaking news as possible, but it needs to be officially supported in order for it to work.

Anyway..thats my lunchtime ramble.

Back to work now.

If we did do that I could definitely write sopme professional articles for it...like one a week or something. I will eb a professional journalist in about 6 months...so i feel like i am qualified. It is just tough to do race reports when i am racing! lol..but features or whatever i am good on...

I know that if I were a track owner, I would rather get the fans that are interested in reports ect, to look at the website anyway. Then the website, along with the track sponsors, get the exposure
