Visiting Drivers for the 4&6 Cylinder Bone Stock 75 in October

This list was partly posted in another thread, but I'm not certain that the drivers from the other speedways always head over to the Delaware boards to see what we're up to.I am currently promoting a Bone-Stock 4 & 6 cylinder race at the track which will run on October 15th. The format is similar to an old-school enduro event. Some four-cyinder drivers have been excited about the possibility of joining in the fun either with their existing equipment or a purpose-built car for the event.Studying the rulebooks for the four-cylinder classes around the province, I find there are more similarities than differences. Many are close to the Bone Stock spec, but have perhaps gotten away a bit with modifications to the setups of the cars. Here’s the general rules checklist to run your racing program against if you are an existing competitor from another track:Nicely formatted checklist, available on the event info page now:event info:goal here is to invite others to join the fun, without compromising the stock-nature of the event. Here is a text verision of the same list:To run this event I need a:- Have-Fun Attitude- Four or Six Cylinder Vehicle- 4-point Roll Cage- 5-point seatbelts- Proper SA 2005 helmet- Minimum Spec Fire SuitI cannot run this event with:- Engine modifications of any kind- Suspension Modifications of any kind- Fancy new tires.If I wish to run this race, I will have to return to stock setup.I can have a:- Front hoop, provided I do not install additional Bone Stock bumper bars.- For car numbers: I will not force you to repaint, but I do suggest getting a theme, or even covering your number with the name of your car. This is mainly for the fans.I understand that:- This event will be taking place on a full 1/2-mile speedway.- That there will be obstacle cars pre-placed on the track.- Vehicles that are disabled during the race will be removed, and may be replaced with an obstacle car.- It is not a demolition derby - - but sheet metal shall be bent.---Some Speedway Specifics (After you read that attached link):Sauble Speedway "Dacar" Type CarsAre legal for competition, double check to make sure your roll cage is indeed up to spec for bone stocks. Make sure your castor and camber are stock.Sauble Speedway Four Cylinder CarsAre legal for competition with minor notes. Setup on the car (castor / camber) must be returned to stock position, same with anything you might have done to the springs. If you have any kind of 'performance tires', please don't bring them. Standard street tires only. If you are running a front-hoop, you are permitted to do so, but are not permitted to add the additional 'defensive rub rails' used by the Bone Stocks.Flamboro Mini StocksMuch the same as the Sauble Four Cylinders, your cars are legal for competition with a few minor rollbacks. This includes returning your castor / camber to stock. Again, 'performance tires' should be left at home. If you are running a front-hoop, you are permitted to do so, but are not permitted to add the additional 'defensive rub rails' used by the Bone Stocks.Peterborough Four-FunMany of cars are legal for competition with modifications. One notable one is that your rulebook currently does not require a roll cage, but you will need one to run in this event. This investment will also improve your safety at your home-track. Remember to return your castor and camber back to stock, and ensure you are indeed in compliance with the no-performance tire rules. You are permitted to add defensive rub rails per the Bone Stock rulebook.Peterborough Enduro (4 & 6)Your cars are legal for competition, however like the four-funs your rulebook does not have detailed cage specs. You do need a roll cage to run this event, which will improve your safety at your home-track races as well. Also please return your castor and camber to stock. Same with the tires.Peterborough Mini-StockYour cars are legal for competition, with minor modifications. Your cage specs are correct, but note that if you have installed a front hoop, you are not permitted to run front bumper bars in addition to the hoop. Castor and camber must be returned to stock. Please leave racing wheels and tires at home.Varney Stock FourThe Stock-Four rules have a number of problematic issues for a stock series, mainly relating to the suspension on the cars. If a Varney Stock four car is hoping to participate, please contact me well in advance of the event.Varney EnduroCars themselves are legal but require safety upgrades to cage and seatbelts to be approved. Stock setup, stock wheels.Capital City Speedway Enduro (Ottawa)The 4 & 6 Cyl cars from this division would be legal for competition, with some safety updates. i am not frustrated at all just voicing my opinion is all
John has been working hard at this i am sure.
as for manners i have lots of those
and for stfu that wont happen sorry
this is for opinoins and every post gets critisism.
I have been in the racing business for over 20yrs driver cars and karts
owner of many and crewing of many.
So to VOICE My OPINION It is free to do here.
what works at other tracks sure as hell could work for delaware and that is the point some thind will work very well others wont.
dont like whats being said like you did good for you you had the balls to say what you felt.
alot of ppl wont say anything

i can almost gaurantee you that any and all 4-6 cyl car invitational will draw a hell of alot more cars and fans.

a serious type 4 banger race at Delaware would be INSANELY painful to watch.

Cant be any worse then watching what we have been watching,
Lets get real here racing is racing doesnt matter you should know paul.
never mind the names and crap straight up racing is what i am getting at not a god damn circus show.
we see enough of that on a normal friday night... lmao
Just trying to get more classes involved
more classes more revenue more entertainment for the fans.

I really don't mind the fact you are frustrated with the track (we all have been at some point), it just how damn silly you sound. I don't think you have said one positive thing since you joined the forums. And, there is loads of tracks having the SAME issues across Canada, and the U.S. So again, shut up and learn how to be nice.

Ok my 2 cents worth a) John stick to your guns its your sandbox if they don't like the way you have things they don't have to play. Lmfao you guys moaning about what cars are and aren't legal submit the man a complete set of rules you would like to see and the add up the cost and see if it is still "entry level". Let the speedway get the first one off the ground and then adjust the rules to fit not the other way around.imho John has a starting point at least give him a chance to improve it as HE SEE'S FIT its his baby! I am trying to talk the wife into bringing my car 3 hours towing to this with a very few changes my 4banger is legal for this show and I aint raced much this year so I am kinda amping for somthing a little different

Does any one have a V6 junker out there ?? ;D.......post it on CRO and it will be sure to go LOL :-*

im saying their own weekly regular class....same as super stocks, or late models or mini stocks....a street stock v6 class at any track would work.....someone just have to do it......not mixed with thunders/super stocks....or mini stocks......just throwing my hat into the ring.....i love the enduro idea the owner of deleware is doing....the more events the better.....im not on here to b*tch and complain like most....just making some suggestions and adding my point of view thats all..... and i think a regular v6 fwd class at any track would be great.....

well on that note I agree ;D ... I too have called for such a class sum it up this way ..stand at the gate of any scrap yard and see what is gettin draged in and make a class out of them and ya most are V6. ;D.......but a new thread should be started for that :o...can you see the confusion of not posting about the topic in a thread ???

Hey Flammy might be interested in a all V6 front wheel drive class. Right now Delaware has an FWD 4 Cylinder class in the making. It's pretty cool cause you can get into pretty dirt cheap
