Unless the results are on a pink carbon copy handed directly to you from the head scorer, they are considered "unofficial". For example, any results posted to the internet are unofficial, as you are looking at a computer generated representation of the offical results. The visual representation could potentially contain errors. Same deal with the weekly handouts at the track - they too are "unofficial" as they do not come directly from an official - they are simply copies of those official results which could potentially contain errors.
