If something is found, it's a DQ or points, and it's up to the team to prove their engine is legal, that requires a tear down, and the engine is no longer accepted on the track. Unfortunately they have caught teams and their penalty was appropriate. I, like many do not believe that cheating is all that rampant, while yes it's out there it's not everywhere. Time is much better spent by a teams worrying about what is missing to get them out front than fretting over what the other guy did to get by you. Concentrate on making your car a winner, not making the other guys a loser and let tech be tech as we have the best divisions around......
I agree with you 33 to a point, You and I both know there are things going on. In my mind any advantage gotten by foregoing the rules directly affects everybody in the field. You don't have to win a race to take another guys money. you take away somebody position and you take away there money as well. Soft infractions are that and Tampering with boxes or swapping out crate parts, or modifying things is different. I could give a rat's but about the firewall being out by an inch but some of the violations are well beyond that. I'm not harping on about what I think...It's about what others think to be true of our track. We already have the reputation of the most expensive track in Ontario to run at in every division!
I think Team 33 is quite right in the fact cheating is not as rampant as made out to be. If it were, the temptations would be far greater with much higher numbers of violations. He is also correct in saying concentrate on your own machine, it's the little things that cost you, and the little things that can make you.
You didn't get my point did you?
To a point I do.
