I'm trying to make sense of all that ^^^^^^
Hey "just racin," since your are the smartest on this forum private msg me, and I'm going to invite you over to go thru my car, man the f@@k up ad stop hiding behind a name on this forum, ur throwing cheap shots at me and its pissing me off. Mr know it all eh!!!!.. Now, I'm going to make this clear to everyone, I'd be more then happy to put my whole motor on ta table and you will all see its legal, I was the one who said are you sure we can run headers on a buildt vortex engine, bcuz come on, 30-40hp right away on a good 45 well balanced engine,?? Right away better then a std over bottom end on a crate. A 500 lift cam with no duration rule?? Am I the only one who can see this??? HP carb??? Equalls BIG HP!!!.. Yes, my motor has A LOT of HP!!! But, it is what delaware put in the rule book, so that's what i buildt, headers ontop is another 25+. Yes, buildts cost more money, crates are the best thing todo for this division, nothing else, I have a great plan, but choose not to put it in this post bcuz who is in the right?? Everyone calls everyone stupied on this forum, you got Mod edit Personal attack like justracin clearly doesn't know shit about engines nor delaware rules, yes, the delaware rules got out of hand with the 3 link stuff etc etc. So, you put a bad ass motor in a 3link car and BOOOm!! You got a killer racing machine, so given the chance. I buildlt one, its not cheating, its taking advantage of every rule delaware created, and it showed at several tracks this year. Sunset I struggled bcuz there r a lot of good cars up there and I never nailed a good set up yet. It happens, BUT one thing about that track, is I was heavier then all there cars and it equaled out great. Mod edit Personal attack so, once everyone wants to have a decent, calm, cool, meeting about the future of delaware superstocks, I would like to call a meeting with everyone and talk about my ideas, which will help bring the field closer, less spending cost, and good racin, and make it easyier for new people to come in. And I would also like justracin to be there so he can stand front and center in the spotlight so he can outsmart all of us... At the end of the day, in all seriousnes, we need to all come together, bring beer if you wish, lock our selves in a room, and build a racers friendly rule book. That isn't all about the top 10 racers, but about the back markers, about the interested racers who want to come into the divison.. We can make this happen, and I'd like to throw in my input. But refuse todo it on a forum. Bcuz I'm sure people will just say thatys stupied anywazs and besides you all think I'm a big cheater, so shame on me for taking advantage of a rule book. (Justracin, when are you going tobe the head director of F1?)
Well said JR
I'm saying one built this years had over $7000 in it and you think built motor racing isn't about the wallet? You would have to devise a system of allowed part numbers and then machining costs. The idea is to keep a cap on spending, as cost is killing the entire sport of racing. Do the tracks take over and control the spending or do they watch evaporate? I've heard from promoters in the south with the same situation and they are taking control. If I had my way you wouldn't see a single vortec head in the enduros and trucks would all be running those 290 hp crates on a 5500 chip.
Fair enough, but I wasn't saying that it's not about the money, I was pointing out that regardless of WHICH engine package we go with, there's gonna be some guys who get more power out of them, and yeah, usually they spend more money to do it.
Going Crate-only won't limit costs. We all know you can cheat up a Crate just as easily these days, thanks to the aftermarket. Banning a Built engine isn't going to resolve the problem, and limits some racers' choices. There's gotta be some other option from the Tech lane to keep a cap on things.
The "spec" engine (built but using Part Numbers) is an interesting idea, there's plenty of tracks that run that package, including Ohsweken. I'd like to hear from drivers there about how it's worked out.
EDIT: Also, I agree whole-heartidly with JR that headers on Built motors make quite a bit more power. But we asked for them because Ram Horn manifolds are a bitch to fit properly and cost a lot, and in the Super Stocks at least, were a bitch to fit in the car. Is more weight the solution? Or some way to restrict the headers, maybe require 2.25" exhaust where the crates can run 3", or something?
i agree chap well said JR. Now back to what this post was origanally about. This past Friday after the truck feature the 01 truck was also dq'd for under cut valves . That means that the three fastest trucks all year got dq'd at least once each. To my knowledge the 16 (who won the championship)never had a problem in tech garage all year and only won one feature. Guess cheating don`t pay.LOL
