We load up the Mustang the night before and if your rolling toward the "Big O" by 5 - 5:15 or so you'll have plenty of time. Hot laps start most nights 7:20 - 7:30 First heat race at 7:45 There are some nights with 6:00 hot laps but first race is always 7:45 If your no running at Delly come on down and give it a try. The more the merrier. :p Check with the tech guys about the full size truck, I'm not sure about the rules for them.

It was just a vague thought.  If I can't afford to race every week at Delaware, I don't think I can afford the gas to get to Ohsweken!

I'm definitely coming out for the World of Outlaws again though.  8)

They allow those in Ohsweken's Thunder Stock class, and to my knowledge not a single guy's racing one.  Which is a shame, I think a V8 S10 would make a great oval track platform (same front suspension as a metric.)

I get what you're saying about wear, but I gotta think finding S10s and Rangers in half-decent shape, and the effort/custom stuff to swap in the V8, seems like a lot more time/money than just finding a half ton.  Going to the Trucks for the first time after racing Street Stocks forever, I was shocked at how quick, easy and cheap it was for me to stockpile fenders and doors and hoods for a Silverado!  😀

I get what you're saying - I believe Rangers after 1993 were upper lower control arm spring in the middle just like a chevy and cost of putting a v8 in an s10 or a ranger were well under $500. I built 3 of 4 of them in the early 90's (hang the f on) The point I'm trying to make with these trucks, they would have been cheaper to build than a full size truck and quite a bit faster. south buxton started a truck class in 2011 an we had 1 truck show up its a shame they never invited your tucks down to give it a go. i know i race a couple in 2003 for our run what you brung . lack of tire and gear they ran was not even competitive with our econo cars ( real street stocks)  not trying to take away from the trucks but they are probably a bad idea to run on dirt unless you cn run a whole season to figure it out. one of the biggest problem is rear weight.

with that said a 4cy truck class can work real well all over i know humberstone has one and its fairly good racing nd i also know a 4 cyl truck at 2300lbs could compet to win at delaware  we ran 23s during the smasher with our 4cyls on crap street tires.  the truck that ran in the endur seemmed to be very good as well.

with all this said and i know this is about trucks but  they need a weekly class like the bone stocks for cheep racing .
