a few trucks on kijiji for sale...they put on a great show at barrie year ago, it's too bad no other track tried them...
I think with the new super stocks guys see that its cheaper to buy a car (chassis/body) and swap stuff over then it is to spend months working on a truck from scratch.
Buy the chassis and the body and you're at that $7000 you spent on you're truck, then you just have a bare chassis and a body hung lol And nobody just ends up swapping stuff over, if they want to be fast, new chassis=new parts, new parts usually=upgrades, which =more $$$.................Trucks are more affordable, just not as affordable as they should be, they used to be a lot cheaper, now they're creeping up there (still a pretty sizable difference), they need to get some seperation back in the classes and make it realistically affordable. Kind of a catch 22, it can be done cheap, with experience, but experience doesn't come cheap 😉 They need a place for the enduro teams to move up to without a huge amount of $$$ spent, the enduro is so messed up now they have career enduro guys, quite the situation lol
For guys looking to run a truck, they are allowing small sized pickups to run in the enduros and this can be done fairly cheap to make a mid pack racer. Not many trucks in the past so kind of tough to say how good they could compete.
I like watching the trucks and hope the numbers can pick back up would hate to see them turn into the mods
I ran trucks for 4 years. Well... 3 3/4 years. Costs were increasing, but anybody that knows me knew what kind of budget we ran on. Under $2500 a year, every year. Racing is as expensive as you make it, and we all know that. My personal opinion is that the massive lack of repsect among truck series drivers. Why build up something to get it all torn up every week by the same few people? Its not fun. Racing is a hobby. Hobbies are for fun. From my first year in 07 till it ended in a ball of flames mid way through 2010, there was a huge change in driver mentality. It became a "you bump me, I stuff you in the fence" deal with about 5 guys. My 2 cents. Now streetstocker33, have at it!! LOL
crate engines killed the trucks 😉
