Agreed. I have no issue with the numbers.

Its funny, here I have a Delaware program from 1974, and in the editorial, they're looking for people's opinions on whether or not boosting the Export A Series fields from 24 to 30 was a good idea.

Regardless, I dont think trimming the field from 38 to 32 is going to cause any less wrecks. And I think its pretty cool that they just looked at the number of cars on Sun morning and said "OK, you're all in the show, the heats are just for starting order, so don't beat your crap up trying to qualify." That says to me that they regard the competitors and their efforts well enough to reward them for coming. Really, what's to be gained by sending 4-6 guys home?

And I think that's the spirit that most visiting drivers are talking about when they say Delaware makes them feel a lot more welcomed than a lot of places do.

I AM curious though, just where the line was to be drawn in case more guys had showed. Back in the day, Cayuga's Maple Leaf 250 used to start a cool 50 cars.

Look no farther than Frank Kimmel's Street Stock Nationals and how many cars they start. Bristol had 70+ cars...in fact, every SS National has always started with more than 70+

Now I don't like hacking on people but did anyone else in the crowd get the feeling that the announcing was a little ill informed . I'm sorry but it sounded like they were at their first race ever. Suggesting they were pouring oil or water on brake rotors (REALLY) PS they were bleeding the brakes, probably overheated the fluid. I'm sorry but there was so many contradictions with each other and I know they are using a new scoring system, but I was able to keep better track of the top 15 in my head. I'm sorry for hacking but track officals should know more than the avg fan.

I can tell you that these guys work without benefit of video, and the only thing they have to rely on is their eyes. They have to call them the way it looks from up top. I was sitting in turn 1 and had a fairly good view of the Robblee pit, and to give the announcers credit, dumping stuff on the brakes is exactly what it looked like they were doing....and I was closer than the announcer would have been.

Up until 2 years ago, I went to a LOT of racetracks. And I can tell you for certain that, Jared Chirs and John are the best in the Ontario scene.

I think the point is...if he knew much about racing, he could have figured that out....
