Well, I dunno about that opinion..... 🙂 🙂

Both Johnson (#99) and King (#0) moved up from the back. The King got to the front first and it took several laps before Johnson caught up after passing the car in third. Once there, Johnson, IMO, couldn't pick a lane to pass King. Both cars looked loose into the corners and thus ugly line, coming out of the turns and just couldn't stick on the high banks at Holland Speedway.

But the point I was making was that Johnson simply rammed into King on the back straightaway and that bumped King's car to the inside and since Johnson couldn't get away, retaliation was instant coming into the corner...

King simply displayed " you wanna run into me to try and win and can't get away, payback is a comin, regardless if I win or not".....

Johnson's options were NOT limited, he tried on several laps an inside pass and couldn't get it done. King was driving all over the track and NOT picking a lane... it certainly opened up what to do if you're right behind him.

It was a bit of a messy race. Both cars looked they had a challenging setups and it appeared (IMO) that both guys were over driving the corners near the end, in particular Johnson...

I just thought these two different angles of the race is an excellent example of bump and run scenario and end result...

One other note, did anyone notice how each pitstall had track provided lighting for EACH pad? Nice!!!

Has anyone from north of the border raced Late Model at Holland Speedway, which is not far from the New York - Canadian Border? Looks like a cool facility and well managed. www.hollandspeedway.com

Been there what a place.  Real fast high bank track with pits outside.  Most pit stalls cocncrete pad with lights and hydro and beer is locked up in the pit concession until the last checkered. When you pull in the parking lot looks like a golf course. Can am midgets used to run wide open except for a slight breathe of the throttle at corner entry.

Well he caught him from WAAAAAY back and that's my point it was obvious the 99 was quicker. you use the word rammed? I find that interesting. Bump and run is just that "bump" not dump. There is a big difference. If you block and get nidged out of the way and you retaliate by wrecking a guy is not really racing. You can stay in the way then get out of the way. no spins or wrecks and it's racing plain and simple.

perhaps.......... *perhaps*, rammed is too strong of a word, but look at the in car video, where Johnson is placed when he gets "into" the back of King, and hear how Johnson gets off the throttle for a microsecond as King starts sliding and decides to get back into the throttle ( I was about to say "hammer" the throttle... *griin*) and somehow King quickly gets the car in shape and goes into the corner for payback....

It was the last lap, so clearly they were gonna go at it...question is, what do we think this is, a racing bump and run or a clear attempt to shove the guy out of the way or what...

we used to go to Holland two or three times a season back in its' heyday-Busch North, Whelen Mods and ISMA and great weekly late model fields. Like many Western New York paved tracks, it has suffered with declining spectator support and probably was healthiest when it didn't have to compete for cars and fans with Lake Erie Speedway. It had (has?)a nice small amusement park to keep the kids interested.
Unfortunately now, the limited late model division (LAMOT) is lucky to get ten cars. The headline division is the All Pro Mods which is known at other NY tracks as SST, SK, etc. Usually about 14 each evening including one car from Caledonia Ont. Trouble is, that 20 miles away, Lancaster (Dunn Tire) runs the same kind of car at most events the same night. These cars evolved from using passenger car frames to now using aftermarket chassis (for example, Troyer) exactly the same as a full blown mod.
They run a couple of 4 cylinder classes, althought they recently went all front wheel drive in some wierd move--sort of killed the guys with the 240's who were dominating.
Now the only time they get big crowds is when they have their Crash O Rama type thrill shows which really attracts a different type of fan.
Their only big show during the year is the George Decker memorial 100 lapper for the pro mods and last year had just 24 cars for the special. They used to have the Bud 100 for late models every labour day weekend but it changed at the last minute to just another pro mod event last year.
