Some interesting thoughts posted.

Track size, it's the biggest track in operation with weekly events in the area. If you want smaller, there are other tracks within a reasonable distance. Delaware is going to be tiny, if the new track in Ft. Erie really gets built.

Speed cost money in terms of safety and durability. It also equals competition.

The flip side of speed is race car economics.

New surface and walls equals improved safety, competition AND speed - assuming everyone can afford it.

What some may fear;

Not everyone can keep up with the high performance "Jones" race team.

The faster everyone goes, the more dangerous it becomes (over confidence)

Tires will be a critical issue if speed increases. (can be fixed with type of compounds used)

The biggest thing that stands out is what Doug109 posted originally - the track is leased.

If the track gets new walls and surface, there are ways to keep competition costs spiraling out of control, weight, tire compounds, etc..  Update the race track, and everything else can be managed appropriately - if Delaware Management can afford it...

If Sunset is any kind of guide, the competition certainly benefited implementing upgrades, particularly the LLM's. Mini-Stocks  going 4 wide was not uncommon! Yikes - yet no major disasters.

Delaware is big, it's supposed to be !

If management won the lottery, could they pave the entire infield and drop it two feet lower, please 🙂 ....and add more seats from the start finish line all the way to Turn 1.

A long shot wish would be to add more banking in the turns. That's simply not possible without big money...and yeah, racing cost would skyrocket... no free lunch is there....

Go look at some Youtube video of Riverside Speedway in Nova Scotia... the Car Quest LM series there is something else....

that riverside is nice wow !!!!thats what we need

Also, that track that is going up by Niagara, is probably not going to run weekly divisions like Delaware.

Oh also, this would be cool: Introduce a new SS division, with cars purpose built, faster, and more expensive....but do it in such a way that we won't say anyone really has to spend to buy into the new program. Unless of course they're planning on running in the top half of the field.

Because everyone loves spending money right? And hey...history proves the formula for success and increased car counts worked for the Mods and the Trucks. Why argue with history? Let the SS guys experience that very same brand of awesomeness too!  😉

I think some missed your point.

Like truckguy said "Lol"
