Because we have a demographic of folks over 30 why not some bluegrass? Hell everybody likes bluegrass don't they? Just can't take Nickel Back uggh
I'm scared this schedule will back fire. We need the Victoria Day weekend back again. A big show with camping and fun and lots to keep you entertained. Back in the day's when we first got started in racing we camped and watched the weekends races and we were back at least 5- 6 more times that year. I think in part because the events were positive and left you wanting more. Why not fill it in? and bring in something like the OSS or vintage mods, hell amateur motorsports weekend! campfires and cheerleaders maybe lol ...anybody care to comment?
As a fan I couldn't agree more. Enough said. Try something new, I like the band idea and I like the touring series idea. Hell try something like the Can-am midgets again or try to get the super sprints back. The schedule is lacking in the beginning particularly at the Victoria day weekend. Make that some sort of special weekend... its not a suggestion... more or less a necessity. Delaware's Vic weekend has always been there, as a kid thats where I was. I don't see the need to take it out, especially now that we know theres no facility upgrades.
All I'm saying is, as a fan I am a little disappointed with the start being pushed back so far for no reason. I'm sure the drivers don't want an extended off season either :/
Well my vote would be to definitely schedule the May 24 weekend. Can anybody think of a compelling reason not to?

In our assessment this new schedule has the strongest chances for success than any schedule in recent memory. Do not be afraid of backfire: we've already lived that. As noted at the drivers meeting, and worth noting again, every season schedule for the past 5 years or so has already backfired (on a technical-financial level for the speedway).
This is the season where we, as a community, get this turned around.
The schedules in recent years, in many ways have been super-saturated with special events, taking emphasis off the weekly racing program. A strong goal this year is rebuilding that weekly racing brand, with the tighter 12 race season, in the historically better weather window. It also has the side effect of creating a shorter promotional window, allowing us to concentrate the track's advertising campaign.
