Believe me, I was cranky as well. But when I got home, and saw Weather Canada stating storm warnings like that..... I guess you cant blame them. Good call, that turned out bad.

Promoters can never win with respects to weather. Can you imagine if they didn't call it and then someone in the stands gets hurt due to the weather - with warnings like that from EC ? The lawyers would have a field day...

The other issue is economic - fans watch the forecast too, you think they are gonna pay to sit in the stands with EC warnings like that? Tracks have a real tough deal trying to pay the bills, staff, etc. when there's no bums in seats.

Last night at Ptbro, there was a chance of Thundershowers but hey, Peterborough County is HUGE - so they decided to go, if it rains for a wee bit, no problem, it'll be over in 5 minutes...

But sure enough, at 4:15 - 2 hours before the stands open, guess where the biggest rain cell happened to land, not north or west or any of hundreds of square miles...no it plops itself right on top of the speedway, drops like 5" of rain in 7 minutes, zero visibility, and flash floods the highway (I was in it...yuck), cars and trucks on the road were *everywhere*...(amazingly, no wrecks, but lots of cars strewn all over the sides and MIDDLE of highway 7) oh fun...

Yet 2 hours later, they were ready to run. Attendance was down, even though the rest of evening was clear (albeit a little windy), not a lot of humidity either.

I swear, Race Promoters have the toughest job in the world - they can't win...

I am struggling with this one. I stayed at the track till 1am and the rain never came.
The fans showed up and like the rest of us were shocked that there was no racing tonight.
Alot of people take the day off work to be at the races alot of teams travel along way to be at the track.
The  Enduros have ran in some crap weather before and when you make that decision that the enduros run rain or shine you need to stick with it.
I think we race at the best race track in the area and we know we have the best race teams around but this one waxs such a blown call they (Delaware) need to make this one up.
Find a rain date and make it right.

I also would have to agree. RAIN DATE.  But ya rain or shine means rain or shine to the teams and the fans.  Thats why we were all there.
