Were looking to shed some nose and I want to slow down the power steering pump and water pump, the stock stuff is heavy and it spins too fast. We had to add a power steering cooler to stop from frying the the box and pump. It took along time to find the OEM setup we have and it's about as good as it wll get.

I'll tell you guys what, If we go ahead with it I will Dyno the stock vs. under drive and we will see what happens. As it stands the math bears out a power loss with the high rpms. How much? hard to say.

I cant beleive how many people run power steering. Dump the weight, the cost, and all of the problems associated with it. I Also gotta agree with Howie. Measuring and set up gets you to the front, not always the money. If you think you are always getting beat by money, you will never get to the front. I have won 2 heats, (no feature) and im sure I have the cheapest truck out there. By the end of the year, we had two 4ths, and a 2nd in the feature, and almost won on the final night. It can be done, its just the hard way of doing it. There are stock alum water pumps,  they are considered OEM.
