That aluminum pump probably is a stage 3 stewart warner,which is not oem.it has the bolt on the back of it,to prevent timing cover flex at the cam area,i got one sitting here in the shop. 😮 😮 😮
Aluminum oem chev.pumps are not short either....

lol....i can't beleive there is four pages about using aluminum water pumps and hoods??....your not going to get any faster for the money fellows....I have set up 3 winning SS cars in the last cpl yrs,just remember one thing if you want to get to the front......,money doesn't allways make you faster,measuring does!!.... 😉
