Note: a minimum amount of stock hood bracing 3” wide from the outside should be maintained (hood & deck
lid cannot be “floppy” when opened. Optional approved non-functional hood scoop / budge for extra throttle clearance

My hood was stiff and would have stayed flat with stock hinges, It's a mute point and I'm not complaining

Were not throwing belts I run the the flat micro v setup

Where is the hood?

Now I'm confuse, who's car is this?

Its called pushing the limits of the rule book. If it doesnt say you cant run it then you can run it, theres always a grey area where they are either going to allow something to pass or not, its up to the tech personal to make the right call.

Now if one to two to five cars are running it then well it must be legal and they are letting it happen. My suggestion is get it, put it on run it take it through tech, have a copy of the rules with you when you roll through tech and if they say no, ask them to show you where in the rule book it says you can not run alum water pumps. It really comes down to, do you want to spend the money or no? will it help make the car faster? will it keep the car cooler? is it work the money? those are the questions you need to be asking yourself and others not if its legal or not, youve read the rules and it says plain and simple, must be O.E.M stock type, its O.E.M stock they cant say anything and if they do then well the other five, six, or what ever many people need to be changing theirs too and i dont see it happening.

It part of adapting, one person finds something that works and this person goes and looks under that persons hood and sees it and tell his buddy who tells his buddy who tells his buddy next thing you know everyone the next week shows up with the same thing, either you stay with them or you run at the back.

The same thing happend when the new underslung late models came to delaware, all the old style cars sucked compared to them, it started with two cars, then four, then next thing you knew everyone had one except the select few now everyone that races late models at delaware has one just to keep up.

Everyone pushes the rules to some extent to make their car/truck/late model/modified better than the other guys, im building a truck and i know i have things that others dont, done things that others havent, but im not telling anyone, im not showing anyone, they will either come and see it at the first practice or a the first race and either they will have something similar the next week or took that idea and made something that would work for them, its how it goes, as long as your within the rules the tech personal, will either say no or yes, and if you provide good evidince they cant agrue the rule book.

These cars are not stock, they havent been stock for years, so saying oh its supose to be stock is foolish in my honest opinion.

Hood rule is clear, 3 inches allowed, if its flimsy add some 1/4, 1/8 tube on the inisde to make it unflimsy like many have done to gain a whole 5 pounds.

As far as i know you can, as long as it doesnt go above compression ratio, again there is nothing in the rules saying you cant, all it says is they must be stock cast iron no alum.

That looks like a aluminum water pump too me ;D ;D ;D take a real close look....hey Tex,can you see the headers!!

Too bad that is a crate motor with headers...and it probly is an alum water pup, i can go look at that car right now its louie mccolls car.
