I really liked the Late Model twin 25 lap features with no heats on regular nights!

Have a race car set up on the hill in turn 1 keep it attended and put the kiddies in it, take thier pictures and give it to them, or charge a couple of bucks and give it too the children's hospital. Sort of like kids helping kids.
In my mind whats made Auto racing such a strong sport is the fans ability to interact with the drivers. That snags the fans at a real early age and keeps them for life.
Letting the fans in the pits after the races is usally a bust as the kiddies are all tired, we need get the mcharged up before the races begin, let them meet thier favourite driver before the show begins, then they know who they are rooting for.
I had a buddy who was aondering around mosport when he was like 8 or 9, and Richard Petty found him and took pictures of him on the hood of his car. Now that's interaction

The Scheduled 10 was enough I think, even though we only ran 7 of them.

Perhaps if you think of them as they exist right now, then yeah, maybe that's too many races. There is a place for them to have a presence every week, it just depends on the track's commitment to the program, and how willing they are to think outside the box. That has been a struggle sometimes.

I brought this up over on the IT boards, and maybe it bears repeating here, that the kids that are running around at the top of the hill every week are your facility's future paying customers, so you have to do something to engage them and make them feel part of it too. Hoppy could have, but wasn't really allowed to in any meaningful way. (understand this isn't a gripe...it was three years ago and we're all still friends) So Hoppy's out. "Dipstick", as with any mascot, is very limited in what he can do...so for now, the torch goes to the Chaos guys.

Does the track say, hey, we have an opportunity here? Or do they not?

Time will tell.
