I just want to point out that there's a difference between greed, and not wanting to lose a lot of money.
I'm not defending anybody...I've never met the owners, and don't even know much about them. I'd suggest that slagging them in public may not be real conducive to fixing any troubles we might be having. (There's a reason the higher ups avoid the internet.) In fact, this only has the potential to make things worse.
So, I hope we can stay calm and reasoned. I know this is a pretty emotional issue for many of us. I myself have never known life without Delaware in it.
I'm still trying to figure out a way I can help. Unfortunately I don't know Bill Gates, but I'm buying a 6-49 ticket for tonight. (yeah right) Otherwise, I can't think of anything. Any suggestions are welcome.
You guys that lurk here that are involved officially with the track know how to get a hold of me. I'm here if I can help in any way. Call me and tell me what you want me to do. I know how to use a hammer and saw, or even a paintbrush. (I'd be happy to paint a cactus plant and a sombrero on the side of the turn 4 snack shack!)
So, that's it for me, for now. I just want to throw out the idea that Pete James alluded to in his broadcast yesterday morning. The GM quit (for whatever reason) and this is a pretty common thing in the world of sports. You think if the GM of the Leafs quit that the team would fold? So take a deep breath, and make a point of helping in any way you can. From the Stands is right. If you care at all, try and help solve the problem instead of compunding it with negativity.
As I've said before, we can sit here and say, "Well the reason this happened is because X, and the management messed up because of Y, or this guy's an a*hole because of Z, or the paper didn't cover us properly" or whatever. But it doesn't HELP get us where we need to be. All it serves is to show how smart you are, and just plants seeds of anger and discontent. (BTW, I mean this generally...its not aimed at anyone in particular.) Yeah, this is a public board, and no one is required to be helpful, but I'm begging those reading this to please try to understand where I'm coming from here.
Also, yeah, the "Bring Back the Mexicali Shack Club" is still looking for a home. We were meeting at Taco Bell, but we were too rowdy for them. Besides, Mobil1Fan took an unhealthy interest as to which staff members were staying, quitting, or moving to other Taco Bell stores, and FromThe Stands got caught stealing a cargo pocket full of Hot Sauce packets.
You can dress these guys up, but you can't take them anywhere. 😛
Keep it real

I think DB71 asking for the " 2 for 1 hotdog deal" really set the manager off.
Have all the teams and drivers sent in their membership dues. Discount is good till end of this month. Cash in hand sure makes setting up a new season easier.
It's also good to show an interest.

Oh yeah. it must've been that. Anything you can do to deflect the blame, eh?
Expect if the GM of the Leafs were to resign, I think we'd have a post of celebration instead...
