Absolutely. To be honest with you, I'm still confident that the season will go. I don't base that on blind optomism either. In some ways, it wouldn't make any business sense for it not to happen.
The COLD hard facts of business these days gives no loyalties to employees. Yes, Kevin and Amy were MUCH more , but the almighty profit margin rules and obviously the owners were not on the same path.

I have to disagree, the cold hard facts, buisness see employees as assets. If they contribute to the bottom line, the profit margin goes the right direction. I don't think anyone can argue that Kevin and Amy are 1st class assets. Right now , they are free agents.
What do we do??
We hope and pray that the current owners are not as greedy as they seem and that they sell the business to the propery owner hwo has enough money and equipment to complete the upgrades in a timley fashion, and that he hires one of the best management team ( as so stated in these blogs) back to run the business and grow the business. This month of January could then be filed as a minor hicup in the process.
If nothing else is did gain some coverage on the Free Press, and maybe if the editors are reading these pages will deem it necessary for a full time reporter back at the track when it opens in April.

..............Alright, where am I going with this. ... Well
Any other speculation we engage in at this time may create barriers. Barriers?? what do you mean.Reading Kevin's statement and Amy's email, there is an obvious lack of burning bridges. I know this is what we'd expect from someone as professional as Kevin but I read something else in this: Hope!
We can all sit on our asses and complain and point fingers and bash and etc. etc. but it just wont help. We need to do something, we need to do something positive. Tracks all over Ontario, hell North America for that matter, have been closing left and right. We can't let it happen. I know some people might not think important, but this situation is grave. Don't tell me to relax, we can't afford to.
If any one can put forward something constructive we can do, I'd like to hear it.
Do you have the ear of one of the owners. Do you know sponsors or friends of the track you can contact. Do you know Bill Gates well enough to ask him for his change jar. Whatever, it doesn't matter, anything.
EXACTLY
Now for my 2 cents.
1) why does anyone listen to the News and read the Papers anymore. New now a day is nothing more than entertainment and exaggerated journalism trying to get a reaction from people. It's pitiful, I don't read or subscribe to the London Free Press and haven't for over 9 years got fed up with it crappy journalism, I don't watch the London News most stories are basically watch the train wreck and are of the over hyped type. CNN is officially know as ENN in my house "Entertainment News Network" just how may days and ways can you cover a Hurricane with 10 reports standing 10 feet apart on the beach. There is way better places to get the news from.
Now just open your eyes and use the thing between your ears.
For example the LFP headline is "Delaware Season in Doubt", now read the article.
Do you see anywhere in the article that anyone other than JIM CRESSMAN has used the words :Season in Doubt" , "Racing Canceled", "Track Closing", etc.... well do you????
No you don't the typical News Hype to get people wound up.
So as my wife says "get your panties out of a wad" 😆
2) Look at how the track is sitting for the 2007 season so far.
- meeting have already been held for all the teams
- rule books were our in November and finalized
- new teams are signed up
- improvements were promised to be done by race season
- tentative schedule was out by December
- new partners are on the Delaware website
- I think there is even new sponsors listed
Now just go back one year none of the above was done. Kevin, Amy and the other staff at Delaware have done great work to get the track ready for 2007. Last year we were all complaining that they wern't gonna be ready.
3) there are over 100 teams that keep the track going, Kevin and Amy were management and a vital part, but they arrange for the Show, we bring it (fans and teams).
4) FromtTheStands I gotta disagree slightly on one of your comments. and agree with DB1
"The COLD hard facts of business these days gives no loyalties to employees."
I've worked for many of company where I've heard workers at my level, below my level and above my level say that I was a valuable part of the company and if I left the company would be in big trouble... well i've left these companies and they are still in business. Leaving my slow the process for a bit but most companies are bigger than the individual. Delaware for example.
5) So now everyone say the following 3 times "The 2007 Delaware Season is a go".
I'm still going out to the shop to work on the car and I'll be ready for the 1st practice. Heck I'm gonna be in paint by the end of next week.
Well that's my rant.
So when is the next meeting of the bring back the Mexicalli Shack.
