You didn't just miss the toss (single) you missed a matching pair. I was really hoping to catch it and keep it (you know guy who catches it gets to be the fill in driver during suspensions). We will probably never hear the full story about the tech.
What happened from your vantage point???
What is your take on tech???
Sorry for the delay, been pretty busy.
I didn't catch what caused the accident and I pretty well stayed where I was when Pearn heade down pit road so I didn't see what happened with him and Urlin and I didn't go running through the pits to follow Forth so all I really saw clearly was Forth tossing his stuff and getting a good head start on his run.
As for tech, I don't wish that job on my worst enemy. You hear the same old claims at every track about favourites and it's usually by people who get caught or people who can't keep up. I wasn't standing in truck tech so I don't know what they checked or any other specifics but if they won't be specific it's very difficult to beleive them. I do however dislike the fact that some tech officials are "helping" cars with their setups (too much chance of conflict of interest). I have been paying some attention to the mod and lm tech and I just don't understand why the scale readings are recorded in a book that anyone could read, the book is located on a table below the scale screen and any team rep can read the numbers of any other team while their car is on the scale also the chance is there that the official could be giving those numbers to the teams they are "helping". More specifically the rule on mod springs are diameter and shocks are steel body with a price cap so here is the question: Asking to see the shock numbers but not recording them OK? How about pulling out the rear springs of the winner and holding them up and studying them out where anyone could stand by and read what they are?
It is hard to do the job the tech people do since they have to be racers which means that they will know the people and it's hard to remain objective but it is required and the tech people are under more scrutiny than the racers are.
