Howdy all! Well, as the song goes: I get by with a little help from my friends, and because of them, I've managed to get out to the speedway a couple of times. (They know who they are, but in case they didn't know...I love you guys!)So anyway, tonight I dusted off the old notebook!For those who are new at this, I'll add my usual caveat: This is a fan's eye view of the races from the grandstands. I don't see everything and don't profess to, and everything here is deciphered from notes chicken scratched and barely legible...even to me. So, if I missed anything or got it wrong, please write it down on a 20 dollar bill, send it to me, and my complaints department will get back to you in 24-48 hours! Peterbilt of Ontario Super StocksHeat 1 - Your front row was 62-Wright with 04 Humphreys alongside. Short side by side drag race till Wright gets out front and tries to run. Humphreys falls to third anfter a pass by 66-Peters. Peters stays right with Wright till the halfway mark, then makes the pass for the lead and begins to leave everyone behind. Peters looks good tonight, and goes on to win the heat. 1st to Peters, 2nd to 5-Mairs, 3rd to 9-DeJesusHeat 2 - Front row is 3-Perkins and 52-Clark, and its a side by side battle for a lap or two, until Clark takes the lead and begins to run away. There was a moment when it looked like 98-Morneau was having mechanical issues whe he slowed right up and got out of line, but he seemed to pull it all together. Top three finishers were Clark, Perkins and 99-Nagy.FeatureWell, the race started with some kind of mixup. Seems they decided to drop the green while the field was still strung out and trying to catch up with the pace truck. Beats me as to what the hell happened but someone was sure in a hurry to get the race going. (There seemed to be pace truck issues all night actually...either jumping in too early, or not getting out of the way in time...as was the case in one of the modified heats.)Regardless, your polesitters were Peters and Mairs, with Dejesus and 24-Richmond in the second row. 1st lap saw 99-Nagy go around in 3 and 4 to bring out the caution, then another bad restart, and another caution. Once they got it going. Mairs was in the lead, followed by Peters, Dejesus, while Richmond and 28-Lawrence battled side by side for 4th. Meanwhile a little further back, theres a race 7th between 11-Lidster, 76-Reid, Perkins, 77-Lake and Morneau. Caution flies as Lake goes around on the backstretch.At the restart, the order stays the same, and Richmond and Lawrence begin their side by side battle anew. At lap 10, there's contact between Peters and Mairs. Mairs goes up in the wall in turn 3 and collects Richmond as well. Caution.So now its Peters, DeJesus, Lawrence, Clark and Reid, with Morneau up into 6th...then passing Reid to take 5th. Peters is beginning to put in some distance. (told ya he looked good tonight)A little later on there's another caution after some contact between Lake and Perkins. At the restart, Peters once again jumps out in front with Dejesus right behind. Battle for 3rd had Clark and Lawrence side by side, but Lawrence drifts high and loses a bunch of spots. Meanwhile. Perkins is working the outside groove to try and make up some lost time after the spin. (worked that top groove like a madman I tell ya!)Not much change at the front. Peters is well ahead, and the next pack is bumper to bumper. Clark tries DeJesus for 2nd and gets into him, but lets him gather it up and Dejesus keeps second.Final order is Peters, DeJesus, Clark, Morneau and Nagy, with an interesting bit of last lap buisiness between 51-Rabidau and Humphreys (who may have been battling for last place for all I know...the two were whacking on each other pretty good.) --------------------------------------------------------Powerade ModifiedsHeat 119-Scott starts front row with 69-Rawlings alongside. Scott takes an early lead with 70-Saunders hot on him. Saunders gets around him to take first, and its a side by side race for second with Scott and Rawlings. Scott stays ahead and brings 57-Brooks with him into 3rd. Saunders builds up a pretty good lead until 96-Prudhomme goes around in turn 4 to bunch the field up again, but after the restart, Saunders keeps well enough ahead. Brooks gets around Scott to take second. Final order is Saunders, Brooks and Rawlings.Heat 288-Shipway and 39-McCullough battle side by side after the green, with 1-Newman tucked in close behind. McCullough takes the lead, but Shipway stays right with him, pushing hard. Finally Shipway pulls alongside for the pass. Final order is Shipway, McCullough and Newman.Feature1st lap, Prudhomme spins off into the wall to force the restart. Then Rawlings takes the lead and stretches it a bit while Mcullough, 54-Limon and Newman battle for 2nd. Before too long, 88-Shipway is up into the fray for 2nd. McCullough hangs on and begins to reel in Rawlings. They battle side by side until 20-Watso...

Well, if you look at what goes on there versus what goes on here (two main areas here) I can't blame them for keeping that forum going.

Oh I don't blame them for keeping the forum going. I just think its unfortunate that everything else around it is so outdated. There's still stickies announcing the publication of GRR issue 4...which was last year.

Plus...they never gave me my prize for "most popular internet personality" Those welshers. 😉
