There were a few Ford Trucks with 602s the season I raced... Why not Dodge in a Chev?  ???

Why in the context of this particular discussion is that dumb ??? A guy just wants to race for fun and you are dissing him and guys that defend him. WTF ??? Call me dumb now because I can't figure where you are coming from here.

I think what Shifty was saying is there are so many posibilities of What could be done to an Unsealed engine. The crate engine is a Chev, because it's relaible, requires little maintanence, and is hard to cheat with. Honestly, a dodge engine is probably fine, and no one is saying different. I agree, if the guy has a rules legal engine, let him use it. But it IS a Dodge in a Ford, Ford/Dodge,  whatever combo, I'm too lazy to scroll up and find out. You need to talk to Tech, maybe the promoters, and see if there's a way it's possible. With counts down, there may be a spot for you. Unlikely, it will happen but asking is the only way.

Sorry shifty, I've been around the game a while, and the only Dodge motors I've seen are wheezy and getting lapped on the back stretch every time around.  I don't see the advantage.  I raced up north though, so who knows...  :-
