Well if the carriers are welded up that brings the reliability factor into play. I can see the track not wanting them. Theres a three way split between things that can or must be done to a car, Safety, reliability and performance. Some changes help all three some you right just up the anti. Your statements are just and true but considering the teams that do a better job of preparing thier cars within the rules will do better and rightfully so, they deserve to. We tossed a wheel this year due to a stock axle failure and we could of demo'd our car or somebody elses in the process but luckily we didn't. Some guys came over and said right away you're nuts running stock junk and at first I took offence but then thought about and said to myself "self Jake could have been hurt or hurt somebody else" So we decided that upgrades were necessary for the improvement in safety as well as reliability. I know we could have spent that dough on going faster but my kid's ass is not worth it...safety first ;D

I'm just wondering when they'll put in some real safety rules.
1) all divisions full containment seats
2) all divisions some sort of Head and Neck Restraint.
3) all divisions full face helmet
4) all divisions on board fire suppression systems
5) all divisions 1/8" door plates on drivers side

BTW, I think your suppose to braze the spider gears.

For good or bad, about 3 months before the car counts drastically decrease in all the lower divisions
