Like I said, completely understand the anger/frustration. Stupid things are done in every single race and the end result is usually a wrecked car or more. Unfortunately, that's just part of racing. Even more unfortunate is that a lot (certainly not all, and I won't go as far to say the majority) of fans enjoy the stupidity because of the havoc and carnage it causes.
This post you've made will have a lot of eyes on the 41 truck next race, wondering if he gets wrecked like you hope. That's not a good thing. Racing isn't about revenge. The best way to avenge a stupid move is to come back the next week and blow by him on the outside with a good clean pass. In my opinion, it feels the best, and is appreciated more across the board - including the lovely people who provide the financial support.
Another way to look at it, which I believe will help any driver with an itch to deliver a little payback, is this...
On any given race night, some young kid is going to be there watching you for the first time. What kind of first impression do you want to make?
And as far as punishment from the track...
Anyone familiar with the incident, was the 41 at fault? If so, did he receive a black flag? If he did then that's where the issue drops. Nothing more to be done.
That being said, in the past I've been a supporter of the "you miss as many races as the guy you wrecked" punishment. However, that opens a whole new can of worms - distinguishing between accidental, deliberate, and stupid.
I don't want to see him get wrecked. I just hope the officials review the situation and act accordingly.
I wouldn't want to see someone else have all their time and money flushed down the toilet.
We all know the drivers don't race to make to money, if they did they would take part in the
King of the Hill races.
I am a fan (or was a fan) of the Friday night racing. Untill I witnessed some dumb moves by a certain racer
who ended the season of a fellow competitor. Not only did he end the guys season, he got black flagged
and thats it. I heard he may have lost some points, but thats it. Maybe the driver should be suspended
untill the guy he wrecked is back racing. And then the Track has the ignorance to use a picture of the wreck as the Home Page title. REAL NICE GUYS.
How did that wreck end Rick Verberne's season? It looked hard, but it didn't look like the truck was too damaged to be recovered....From what I saw of the wreck, it looked like two guys going for one spot....
Green flagged dropped, they were going down the backstretch. 88 was on the inside, 56 was on the outside, 41 thought he could fit between the two of them. He hit the right rear corner of the 88
and turned him in to the wall wrecking him. 41 must of wanted to lead lap 1. I know he has no patience.
