For the sake of discussion, what IS going on in the pits? If I'm reading you correctly, crates aren't being given as much advantage as is currently thought?
As a Peterbilt of Ontario Super Stock car owner I wouldn't consider making a bunch of changes to the car to slow it down and go run a travelling series. We are quite happy to be running delaware and I really can't think of any other super stock competitors who would. As far as the crate engine, I don't know why anyone would be against it. You can now buy one for just over $3000. and you don't touch it fot at least 2 years. Some have run them for 4 years with just changing valve springs. But for those that want an alternative built motors are allowed in the division. Just read the rules on the delaware web page.
i don't want to turn this into a crate motor debate--- but who is the crate motor program a "money grab " for ? certainly not the dealers

I'm going over ther thread here, and I don't see anyone saying that.
super stocks don't have to run crates, built are an option. anybody that says they need to get away from making the crate an advantage doesn't know what's actually going on in the pits.
Is there anyone running built engines in Super Stock, or have the rules made it impossible to do so and be competitive?
